Seriously it's almost 2018

I can't believe my last post was September. I guess that means we've just chugging along.
Girls in October started Little Millers Preschool and it's been awesome.  Now our mornings can still be a struggle, but love having them all there at one place and the program rocks.
I hated to say good bye to Goddard but it's been great watching them learn, going to the school every day.  And now I'm back full time.
Typical morning.
I get up 6:45, hit snooze, and get myself ready.  7:30ish  I wake up Luke and he starts getting ready.  Sometimes the girls get up on their own, sometimes they don't.  But he has his waffles or toaster strudels, brush teeth, wash face, and heads to the bus stop 8:06 ish.  Then I come back and the girls have either started to get ready or are just watching TV so we get ready as well.  Waffles are a staple, some morning wrestle them to do their teeth & face,  and then out the door we go.  We try to get to school by 8:30 but it's been cold and slo mo lately so it's been 8:45.  Riley at first had a rough start, but now she's so excited and is pretty good (typically) getting in and going to circle time.
These girls are becoming less and less baby and more and more big girl every day.  Their personalities are so similar but so different.  Riley loves all things princess and will wear her Elsa nightgown daily if allowed so.  Vivian is a little less girly and so good at coloring pictures.  They love to play babies, make forts, get silly.
They had their first mani-pedi and it was so cute! We went to celebrate Raya's 7th birthday and wasn't sure if they'd like it or want to do it, but they did and they were sooooo good.
Luke finished 8 weeks of basketball at the RAM.  So fun.  Reid and Roman played.  It was good times! He is growing in kindergarten and love to hear and see his enthusiasm about school.
Getting ready for Christmas and love looking for Elfvis Shelfley everyday.  'Tis the season!
This year has flown by.  Next month I'll have a 6 year old!! That's a big boy!!! And girls are that much closer to 4, which I think was a super fun age with Luke (not so many tantrums), doing more activities, etc. So fingers crossed.  And fingers crossed they get to sleeping in their beds all night again!
Right now they come into our bed and I'm too tired to take them back or deal with it. Here's hoping 2018 is a good, healthy, happy, and fun year!

DNA confirmed: Identical

And let me tell you, I'm seriously shocked.  They look so different to me.  But the more I talked to the twins moms in my group who did the DNA testing kit, I thought I might as well try it.  That way I would know if they were fraternal or identical. I'm amazed by how many randoms will stop me and be like 'they must be identical' and I'd be like, no they are fraternal.  2 sacs/ 2 placentas di/di. about a less than 20% chance they would be identical.  Both girls are O+ .   But then I was like ....well...maybe....so what the heck.  We ordered the kit, it came, we sent it back and found out results today.  It's funny how it makes me feel.  Like whoa.

Dear Mrs. Weaver:

Our laboratory has successfully completed your zygosity test and your test results have been mailed. Thank you for your interest in our zygosity testing services. As requested when you placed your order, we have included a copy of your test results in this email.

Robert Jackson, Business Manager

---- COPY OF TEST RESULTS #23293-170810 ----

We are pleased to report to you the results of the twin zygosity test that you requested. Analysis of the DNA indicates that Riley Adaline Weaver and Vivian Rose  Weaver  are monozygotic, or more commonly referred to as identical twins.

We first isolated DNA from cheek cells from the swab kits that were returned to our lab. We amplified the DNA using a technique called PCR. Next, we analyzed 15 standard DNA markers used in human identity (D3S1358, TH01, D21S11, D18S51, Penta-E, D5S818, D13S317, D7S820, D16S539, CSF1PO, Penta-D, vWA, D8S1179, TPOX and FGA) and determined that the highly variable DNA markers were the same for both twins. Thus, there is greater than a 99.9% probability that the twins are monozygotic.

As stated in our testing Terms and Conditions, these test results are not qualified for any medical or legal purpose. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about these test results.

Thank you for choosing Proactive Genetics.

Riley!! Wordless Wednesday

And just like that...he's in Kindergarten

First day did NOT go as expected.  Leading up to school, Luke was really excited.  We had the ice cream social, met his teacher, parent night, assesments- so he was used to the school and we got word that 4 of his little buddies would be in the SAME classroom!! I know change is hard and scary but figured he's get a little nervous, then be fine.
Wrong.
He woke up a little skeptical but not too bad. We tried to hype it up with out making him so worried.  Well, time for a picture for his first day and he LOST it. So I'm like buddy, it's ok.  Daddy was there too and sisters were all hamming it up and excited for him.  Finally after a talking to, it was time to walk down to the bus stop.  So we all went, and nope, he wasn't having any of it.  It broke my heart to see my outgoing so fun little guy be so sad.  I hadn't planned on going to the school after he got dropped off, but plans changed.  Thankfully when we got on the bus, Luke tightly gripped to my leg, we saw Sophie, Aida, and his friend Roman.  Roman is the sweetest little boy that is starting kindergarten, too.  Roman was waving and saying "Luke, sit by me!'  So Luke warmed up a little, got him off my leg, and away they went.
I stopped by the school to see if he got off ok and lined up with his teacher.  They encourage you to do that for kindergartners first day.  So I did and was so relieved he was happy and excited.  Whew! I knew he would be but glad for confirmation.
First Day :(

When he got home from school he was going about a million miles a minute and his volume was so loud.  He had SO MUCH fun.  He loved PE,  lunch, his class room, his teacher....everything.  Even the bus ride!!    He was exhausted and went to bed with sweet dreams and excited for Day 2.

So excited that he woke up at 5 am and had brushed his teeth, put his clothes on, came into our room and said 'mommy, I'm all ready to go!'   So we went back to sleep until 7 ish and couldn't wait to get to the bus stop.  'mommy, how many more minutes!'

Day 2 :)

This guy is going places and going to do great things!! We love you, Luke Russell!!! So proud of my big, brave boy!  xoxox

Luke is 5!! ( a month a half ago!)

We just had Luke's 5 year check up last Friday March, 10.
He's growing like a weed.  Each day he shows me glimpses of the sweet baby boy he was and the big happy handsome boy he will be.

Weight:  42 lbs 3.2 oz                57%
Height:  44.25 inches                 72%
BMI:  15.2                                  42%

He grew over 3 1/2 inches! He's definitely a lean, skinny boy.  Not overly tall, but not short either.  He loves video games a little too much and is constantly making the 'boom boom' sounds.   He loves his sisters so much too.  Sometimes he's so great sharing with them and playing with them, then other times he gets easily frustrated because they won't do something, took his toy, etc.  Oh, the joy of the being a big brother to 2 little sisters.  He's going to have to get used to that :)  He's pretty good at pretty much everything but he is a very good artist and builder.  I love to see what he comes up with and what is going through that pretty little head of his.

Once he hears the doctor say something he does a good job of reminding me at home- remember Dr. Moore said I need to drink more water, mom.  Remember, I can't watch TV right before bed.  He is a very good rule-follower.  And such a people pleaser.  Good qualities to have!

Right now he's not excited about kindergarten (which round-up is next month- oh!!) but I'm sure he will change his tune closer to time.

Luke Russell Weaver- my sweet beautiful boy!!  These 5 years have been awesome and can't wait for all the fun that's ahead.  xoxoxox

It's 2017!!

I don't know where the time is going. But it's going.  The girls are going to be THREE years old at the end of the month.  Luke turned FIVE years old end of January and now we are getting ready next month for Kindergarten round-up.  Doesn't seem possible.  But in other ways it's like they have all just always been here and at this point in our life it's the hardest.   You forget the newborn up all night phases because  they have been replaced with going down in big girl beds just to wake up @ 1:00 am with Vivian climbing into bed with you.  You forget how hard it was to get Luke potty trained but now going thru it with the girls, looking back it must have been so easy.

In January we celebrated at Pin Heads bowling and Luke had 5 little buddies to the party and the Weaver cousins.  It was a lot of fun.   Except the girls weren't in the best mood b/c that was the morning they decided to wake up super early.  Of course.  But loved the arcade and did a great job bowling.  We also celebrated by dad's and Luke's birthday with cupcakes at my parents' house.

February love was in the air!  I actually went to the Purdue game on Valentine's Day (and we are having a GREAT season so far) but had a twins Valentine's day party, party at school, lots of love and pink and sweetness filled the air.    We also hosted a couples/family baby shower for the Osbornes and it was a lot of people, a lot food, but mostly a lot of fun.

March Madness is almost in full force already, and it's only day 2.  In like a lion, out like a lamb.  Raymond James had a casino night for SA appreciation event and it was lots of fun.  Matt has basketball league on Wednesdays night.  Purdue, Pacers, good times. And this Saturday our first Weaver family game night hosting at our place.  Luke has his 5 year apt next Friday 3/10, on St. Patty's Day we are going to possibly go down to the parade, girls turn 3 the 31st and still planning their birthday.  Everyone is going to be gone on spring break around then, so it might just be Lemming side to celebrate.   Coming up on a year ago our spring break w/my parents and the Booths to Gulf Shores.  Hoping maybe something fun this year too before our Outer Banks trip with the Weavers in July.

Working part-time has been great being able to spend time with them more and doing more fun stuff. Our favorites are still the Y, parks, and Conner Prairie.  Ready for consistently warm(er) weather and bike rides around the circle and our neighborhood!
